You will now board the free City Hopper ferry across the Brisbane River.

CityHopper is a free inner city ferry service for the Brisbane River. You can hop on and hop off the CityHopper at eight stops between North Quay and Sydney Street and New Farm. The service runs every 36 minutes between 6am and midnight, seven days a week.

Come in and enjoy the authentic Italian experience. Saturday is about fun, relaxation and nothing serious. Here a raincheck detour at the

Powerhouse Museum. Saturday afternoon at the Powerhouse Museum. Museum is not a dreaded word when it’s a powerhouse. Hop on board the New Farm ferry terminal in your newly acquired wet weather gear, a sturdy umbrella and head off to New Farm Deli for some indoor deli and cafe time. Afterwards an indoors afternoon at the Powerhouse.

Cultural stuff like comedy interspersed with exhibitions and music is situated in a repurposed utilitarian power plant. A concrete building never looked so good as the industrial Brisbane Powerhouse. You’re checked the latest updates on what is happening at the Powerhouse and are energised and off to explore the Museum.

NOTE: From PittWater you will travelling on the A3 McGee’s Bridge, that carries the Tasman Highway across PittWater, near Sorell in the south-east of Tasmania. The bridge and adjacent Sorell Causeway provide vital links between Hobart and the Tasman peninsula.

You have returned to your city accommodation with your cultural fix sated or laden with finds from James Street. Depending on the purchases you could leisurely return to New Farm terminal via the Riverfront boardwalk. It is necessary to work up an appetite for Eat Street Markets. A culinary explosion of taste from SE Asia through to Swedish meatballs, vegan style.

Street food, reasonably priced and fabulously tasty. A portable cityscape of food vendors pops up near the airport. How to get there is on the reliable City Cat to Hamilton Wharf.

Kayaking Brisbane River @rivermakers

Now a weekend highlight, sharing, laughing and being amazed at your skill kayaking a city river with its river traffic making it an adventure.

Forget about the beach, you are in Brisbane and you’ve found water. The river is a brown colour layer because it is an estuary and tidal. Sediment is stirred up with the ebb and flow of the tide. The river is safe for kayaking adventures.

Kayaks can be rented by the hour along the river at Riverlife. Test your skills on the Brisbane River with Riverlife’s kayaking tours and stand up paddle boarding. If you prefer to keep your feet dry you can always size up the Kangaroo Point cliffs with our abseiling and rock climbing adventures. Or simply explore the riverside by segway, cycle or scooter.
